Morse code Discriminator for Model 10x -- this documentation is an UNFINISHED and PRELIMINARY edition of the ENGINE TECHNICAL MANUAL. Ongoing extraordinary usages of the Morse code Discriminator for Model 10x (e.g., use at ground stations and mobile-chase stations for obtaining radio-telemetry during high altitude balloon launches) continue to reveal the greater needs by users for more detailed technical information than the other documentation provides. Consequently, this documentation continues to evolve to meet those greater needs -- it is a work in progress. The scope of this manual is limited to the technical aspects of the "Engine" of the Morse Discriminator. This manual provides descriptions of internal functions, limits of performance, and much detail. The 'Assignments - Morse Definitions' section, especially its 3-page table of default definitions, has the information that is most frequently needed by folks involved in extraordinary usages, and by folks interested in European nation symbols.

Morse code Discriminator for Model 10x -- MD1.DO spawns optional Body as BASIC program file MD1.BA. MD1.BA is an optional Body that you may use in conjunction with binary file MD1ENG.CO (i.e., the Engine). This optional Body is a generally desirable item for convenient operation of the Morse Discriminator for Model 10x. Its use is highly recommended for the neophyte to Tandy laptop usage.

Morse code Discriminator for Model 10x -- a collection of documentation snippets that are extracted from other manuals. This consolidates often needed information into one document. The 'Homemade Hardware' section of this documentation is of prime interest. The circuit shown in Figure 7, 'High Performance Audio Detector for BAR CODE READER Connector' provides the balance of response time, audio frequency selectivity, and anti-alias filtration you need to obtain high performance for both typical Morse speeds and excessive Morse speeds used for telemetry. The circuit shown in Figure 6, 'Audio Detector for CASSETTE Connector' provides only mediocre performance but is extremely sensitive.
